Cirque Bon Bon | JACs Entertainment

Cirque Bon Bon does not hold back and offers a rich circus experience. It features a very talented crew of artists who perform the most iconic circus acts including acrobatic archery, aerials, juggling, hoop dance, unicycle, acrobatic skating, and roue cyr. The team behind the scene of this show are JACs Entertainment, comprising of creative producer Ash McCready, an independent artistic director with experience working with companies such as Cirque du Soleil, and Julieann Nugent, the choreographer and artistic director.

In cabaret style, the show is a composition of acts held together by the amazing, amusing, and entertaining Mario Queen. Mario Queen has a thick French accent, wears lather, and professes his love for the music band Queen by performing a catchy juggling act dancing and lip singing “Another One Bites The Dust”. In Cirque Bon Bon, Mario Queen is more than an extremely talented circus performer and entertainer; he represents the gay leatherman, sexual liberation, and a tribute to the victims of AIDS, his music crush Freddie Mercury included.

Cirque Bon Bon is risqué as well as risky, from the sexy acrobatic roller-skating dance of Duo Synergy, to the sensual contortionist dances of Shannen Jones, and the strip tease on the roue cyr wheel. The show concludes with the licentious areal act of Stephen William who performs a provocative dance using aerial straps hanging just above a bathtub. He starts in the bathtub and wears jeans only. He soon grabs the straps and rolls up and down dipping into the water in the bathtub. This act is lascivious!

I also enjoyed that Cirque Bon Bon is interactive and engages the audience. On the night that I attended, a woman from the audience was invited on stage to help Mario Queen perform his unicycle act. Mario Queen did a strip tease for her and then asked her to stand on his shoulders while he cycled up and down the stage on a unicycle. Mario Queen also had a banana fight with a guest from the audience and then invited the whole audience to sing along and produce his dream queer rock opera.

Cirque Bon Bon combines laughter and visually stunning acts. I loved watching this show and I left satisfied with the feats that I saw and light-hearted from the laughter. I hope that the creative producers and artists will keep this show alive.
