Five shows in places you’d never expect
One of the beauties of the Anywhere Festival is catching performances in the most weird and wonderful places of our town. Here are five of the most unusual and enticing spots to catch some art in this May.
Gyms across southeast Queensland
Muscle Up Circus will take you on a fusion of circus on physical fitness. Bringing gym junkies and carnies together for the first time … ever! Playing in gyms across the southeast was definitely a sentence I never thought I’d type.
A parking lot waste management centre in the Gold Coast
Where better to hold a show called Absolute Trash? Things will get truly method with Glitter Martini’s trash-tastic cabaret of aerialists and acrobats. Two night only on 7-8 May.

An underground bunker, hidden away in the middle of the Brisbane CBD.
Spring Hill Reservoir, Queensland's first in-ground reservoir in Spring Hill has been turned into one of Brisbane's best kept secret places to perform. During Anywhere, the reservoir will be the place to see illegal underground improv battles, tales of overcoming loss, nights of gorgeous song and so much more. Check out the full run of shows at the reservoir here.
The resting place of Brisbane's former fleet of trams
Brisbane Tramway Museum, hidden away in Ferny Grove, is the site for Improv Mafia's new work Transported, which immerses the audience into the minds of fellow travellers.

The University of Queensland's Senate Room
Get amongst portraits of crusty old white dudes for some performances about accessing power in the seat of power at Queensland oldest university and a play about wizards. ‘I am woman, hear me', 'A very important meeting' and ‘The play about wizards and music in a village somewhere’
